About Us
Upon graduating from the Faculty of Architecture at Dokuz Eylül University, we, Gökçe Kursav and Barış Kursav, founded Bago Mimarlık in İzmir in 2010. From the very beginning, we believed in building an office where design, production, and collaboration come together, and we have carried this forward ever since.
Our practice is centered on residential projects, yet we also design commercial spaces that require strong identity and atmosphere. For us, architecture is a way to engage directly with daily life. Each project begins with an idea shaped by context, light, and material. Our designs are guided by careful consideration, resulting in spaces that feel contemporary, strong, and authentic.
As architects, we care about proportion, structure, and detail as much as we do about how people live and occupy these spaces. This perspective leads us to design spaces that are both precise in their construction and generous in their use, places that invite daily life to unfold naturally while retaining a strong architectural character.
Collaboration is at the center of our practice. From concept to construction, we remain deeply involved in every stage of a project, working closely with clients, consultants, and builders, and ensuring that every project remains true to its architectural intent. This approach allows us to design projects that reflect individuality, express identity, and seamlessly integrate nature into everyday life.

Gökçe Kursav
Architect, Co-founder
Born in İzmir in 1985, Gökçe Kursav graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Architecture in 2010. That same year she co-founded Bago Mimarlık, an Izmir-based architecture office focused on residential projects and contemporary design. Her architectural work emphasizes spatial composition, natural light, and material integrity, resulting in projects that contribute to İzmir’s modern architectural identity. Since 2022, she has been a member of İzmir SMD, the Association of Architects in Private Practice.
Barış Kursav
Architect, Co-founder
Born in İzmir in 1986, Barış Kursav studied architecture at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Architecture. Before establishing Bago Mimarlık in 2010, he gained professional experience in various architecture offices, working on both residential and commercial projects. At Bago Mimarlık, he directs projects from concept to construction with a focus on technical precision, construction detailing, and architectural quality. He has been a member of İzmir SMD since 2022.
Kahraman Kursav
Architect, Project Manager
Born in İzmir in 1958, Kahraman Kursav graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Architecture. Until 2008 he worked in Turkey as a site manager and project director, delivering a wide range of residential and commercial projects. Between 2008 and 2023 he managed large-scale international projects abroad. Since 2023 he has been part of Bago Mimarlık, contributing his expertise in project management, construction processes, and coordination to the Izmir-based architecture office.
