The project challenges the introverted and institutional character of traditional healthcare facilities, proposing an open and spatially legible healthcare environment organized around a central healing courtyard. Medical units extend towards this courtyard, while semi-open “in-between spaces” within the intermediate layer bring greenery and natural light deep into the plan, transforming circulation into a therapeutic experience.

The existing historic Čeřovka building is incorporated into the project, creating a small village square between the old and new structures. Public functions such as a pharmacy and café activate the ground floor, allowing the building to function not only as a healthcare centre but also as a local community hub.

Responding to regional building traditions, low seismic risk, and sustainability goals, the structural system is conceived as a hybrid timber framework composed of CLT and Glulam. Environmental strategies including rainwater harvesting, permeable surfaces, and a green roof further enhance the building’s ecological performance.

The project positions the central void as an architectural generator that organizes movement, frames the landscape, and supports the healing process on both physical and psychological levels.
